Driving from Kuala Lumpur, you should head for SEMENYIH than use the LEKAS highway towards SEREMBAN. Dont go to Seremban but head on to KUALA PILAH.
This is a relatively small town that to me has a large potential of being a tourist attraction. Although the town is so so, but the road leading to this town is spectacular, scenic and above all offers unique historical value of its only kind. Design of each house and the tombstone is one of its kind in Malaysia.
In fact other neighbour towns such as Tampin, Rembau etc have close relationship of a similar uniqueness. Sri Menanti is a must for a visit by those who need to come to Kuala Pilah. I am surprise to see that all these areas are neat and clean. The people are friendly.
On the way to Kuala Pilah, you will not miss the junction to Sri Menanti to the right. But to the left is a medium size paddy field and a must visit 'Warisan Restaurant'. From far it looks deserted but as you enter,....and you enjoy your meal, it is a brief paradise. Under the hot sun, the place is so cool. At 2.00 pm on Sunday some old makcik and pakcik will entertain you with evergreen Malay and English musics. You will surely appreciate the oldies.
To all Kuala Pilah Matrikulasi students, I welcome you to Kuala Pilah. Ask your lecturers to organise visits to kampung around the area and never miss the old graveyards. You may want to write articles about the people here.
But I missed one place which you wont experience any more.....Bukit Putus!
