River Kwai

This place if full of tourist. The main point of attraction is of course the bridge or the death railway. I stayed at the Felix River Kwai Resort. This is a 5 star hotel but with the 2 star price. It is very cheap. 50 metre from the main gate is the bridge. And the best part is, I have to cross the bridge to go to the centre of activity [stalls, info booth, etc]. That means; no hassle from this hotel. At around 4.30 pm, a train will cross the bridge. The scenery is just spectacular. Just like the old days.

I went around at many of the stall, but the price of t shirt and other stuff is quite expensive. The cheapest place I bought the t shirt is at Dan Nok. Even Chatuchak Market is expensive [my opinion]

Went around the town but cant find cemetery for civilian died during the war or the construction of the death railway. My friend told me his grandfather died here but I cant find the grave.

Muslim (halal food) is in town. At night there are few Muslim stalls beside the TNB Bank, just by the padestrian cross of the main road.

Kanchanaburi just like any town in Thailand is very clean. Other than that, nothing is interesting to me. Spent just one day here, and the next morning off we drove to Bangkok; a 133 km drive to be exact....straight to the Dusit Thani Hotel.
