Briefly, on 28 Dec 2008 we drove to Wong Noi (small town North of Bangkok, put a night in our Hilux pick up truck, next morning drove to Laos through Nong Khai. Across the Friendly Bridge is Vientiane (capital of Laos).
2 days later we drove South to Pak Se. Spent 2 nights at one of newest hotel then drove into Thailand through Chong Mek.
Know what? we met an Indian Muslim from Jalan Mesjid India, Kuala Lumpur who was borned in Alor Setar and running a restaurant and hotel at Pak Se. He misses speaking his mother tongue language ie Malay. He was very happy to see us. His wife cook a very good tomyam for us.
